This book was nominated for my book club but didn't get picked. I was curious so I decided to read it anyway and I am so glad I did. What a marvelous story and so well told. I knew almost nothing about the refugee camps and what day to day can look like and i really loved reading this story of love and perseverance.

The Strange Case of Jane O. by Karen Thompson Walker My rating: 5 of 5 stars I don't even know how to write a review for this book. It's strange :) This is the story of Jane O. who walks into the office of her therapist, which she only met once many years before (even though he doesn't remember) and then doesn't come back. Until he gets a call that she woke up in the park and is now at the hospital and can't remember the last day. The story goes back and forth between Jane's diary entries and the therapist. And the more we find out, the more confused we get. It becomes hard to understand what's real and what's not. And you have to be willing to suspend your disbelief and just go with it. I loved Walker's writing from the very first page. Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down and wanted to see what happened to Jane O. Review: Finding Grace

Finding Grace by Loretta Rothschild My rating: 4 of 5 stars I read A LOT of books so it's really really rare for me to find a book with a premise I have never seen before. And this one took the cake. By the end of the first chapter, you're like WHOA did not see that coming. And then you're spending a bunch of the rest of this book reorienting. I know people will have mixed feelings but I loved it. I liked the twist and then the turn the story took. I liked how the author played with the way stories are told. I liked how the characters grew and surprised you both with their stupidity and humanness. I think this one will be controversial, people will love or hate. I am of the former camp.
